Coast FM is a community radio station covering the North-West coast of Tasmania. It broadcasts music, news and community service information to the cities and towns between Circular Head and Port Sorell. The station has developed a Coast FM “family” relationship with its audience, and the many others outside the local area who listen via the station’s internet streaming facility and via the CBAA Community Radio Plus app.

The station’s programming is conceived, planned and created by a dedicated group of volunteers who provide a “Local and Live” sound for a variety of programs. Our popular sport programming and live football coverage are also an important commodity for the sport loving population of this region. Our links to our local audience are deeply enhanced by the many community service announcements and interviews broadcast by our team of experienced announcers. Coast FM also develop and broadcast high quality radio plays which are produced in partnership with a local theatre group, and which feature the voices of local people.

Coast FM has purpose built production facilities that are capable of developing professional promotions and sponsorship announcements for the local businesses that financially support the station’s operations. The productions of Coast FM originate in the stations’ studios at Wynyard, and are then broadcast on the FM band from the main transmitter located on Tape Cape, and then relayed to our two translators in Smithton and Devonport.
