Social spending not war spending – that was the unified message from a collective of organisations who rallied outside the ALP national conference here in Adelaide.
The campaigners are concerned about the rising commitment to military spending including $33 million per day for 30 years pledged to AUKUS.
Amid Australia’s rising rents, widening social disparity growing cost-of-living pressures, the group urge Labor for reform. Independent foreign policy, scraping AUKUS, climate action and ending poverty are just a few of their calls.
