Ordinary people, extraordinary volunteers. Why volunteer? State Emergency Service volunteers are ordinary people, doing extraordinary things. There are many benefits to volunteering with SES, like helping your community, learning new skills and belonging to a team and forming friendship. You will need to be at least 18 years of age, satisfy Police Check, able to attend unit meetings and training, availiable to attend emergency incidents (if operational), medically and physically fit to undertake your role, able to learn the knowledge and skills required of your role and able to work safety as a member of a team.
