The Devonport Lapidary Club annual ‘Jewellery, Gem & Mineral Fair’, is scheduled for 23rd & 24th March 2024, at the East Devonport School Gymnasium, Thomas Street, East Devonport. As volunteers/members of our registered non-profit club, we commenced this annual fair in 2011. Our aim is to encourage interest in the art of lapidary & ensure we are able to assist people to learn the unique skills associated with each different aspect of lapidary. Funds received from the event, are utilised for maintenance & upgrading of the specific expensive equipment & machinery used for applying skills learned, to create each individual specimen/jewellery piece. Our dedicated volunteers/members impart their skills to individuals, visiting primary & secondary school groups, ‘special needs’ young adults (as part of their studies), social, business & family groups, throughout each year, for minimal costs & without bias.
